Baseball Recap: Asotin Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Asotin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Pullman on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Greyhounds with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

SAM HALL and CODY ELLS made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, HALL pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, ELLS kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, HALL got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while ELLS went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Asotin let COOPER THOMAS and CHASE ENGLE run wild. THOMAS went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI, while ENGLE went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of COLT KELLEY, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Asotin is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Pullman, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Asotin has already played their next contest, a 19-5 victory against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna on the 3rd. As for Pullman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-3 win against Deer Park on the 3rd.
