Baseball Recap: McCamey Triumphs

McCamey hadn't done well against Wink recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Badgers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 4-3. This was payback for the Badgers, who suffered a 14-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Player #4 made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Player #4 was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, McCamey let Aiden Torres and Ruben Baeza run wild. Torres went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Baeza went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Torres is becoming a predictor of McCamey's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Antonio Galan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

McCamey has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Wink, their record is now 8-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McCamey beat the Wildcats by a score of 16-0 on Tuesday.
