Preview: Hopkinsville vs. Mayfield
On Friday, Hopkinsville is packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Mayfield at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Hopkinsville, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Last Friday, Hopkinsville couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 17-49 walloping at South Warren hands. Hopkinsville were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 10-42.
Meanwhile, Mayfield took care of business in their home opener. They strolled past Union City with points to spare last week, taking the game 43-27.
Mayfield's lifted them to 1-0 while Hopkinsville's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Mayfield can add another positive mark to their record or if Hopkinsville can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Mayfield's step.
