Softball Recap: Pearl City Wolves vs. Galena Pirates
Pearl City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Galena Pirates. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Kendra Kuhlemeier was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorja Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Pearl City now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Galena, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Looking ahead, Pearl City will take on Dakota at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Galena, they will be taking part in a tournament against Warren/Stockton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
