Softball Recap: Pillager Takes a Loss

Pillager lost against Royalton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies fell just short of the Royals by a score of 5-4.

Briana Blais put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Blais wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joslynn Klein, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Pillager's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Royalton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.

Coming up, Pillager will be playing in front of their home fans against Pequot Lakes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Royalton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
