Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Tombstone + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. David, St. Augustine Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Tombstone Yellow Jackets, posting an 89-34 win. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Yellow Jackets on their court since December 1, 2017.

Leading St. Augustine Catholic to victory were Carlos Acuna and Jovanni Fernandez. Acuna went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 38 points, while Fernandez shot 75% from beyond the arc to rack up 29 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Acuna's fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Omar Valdez was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

St. Augustine Catholic now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, St. Augustine Catholic will take on Patagonia in a tournament on Friday. As for Tombstone, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 4.
