Baseball Recap: Andalusia Has No Trouble Against Red Level

The Andalusia Bulldogs made easy work of the Red Level Tigers on Thursday and carried off a 12-1 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Riley Cravey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Andalusia's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 5-6-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Will Dalton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Andalusia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Level only posted an OBP of .250.

Andalusia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Red Level, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Coming up, Andalusia will be playing in front of their home fans against Ariton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Cats will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Red Level, they will head out on the road to challenge Brantley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
