Softball Recap: White House Blue Devils vs. Station Camp Bison
White House extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They came up short against the Station Camp Bison, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bison this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 1st.
White House saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Goodman, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Goodman has brought in this season.
As for Station Camp, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.
On Station Camp's side, Presley Kouba made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Kouba has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Station Camp let Katelyn Wilson and Lilly Shearer run wild. Wilson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Shearer went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Weis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Coming up, White House will be playing at home against Greenbrier at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Station Camp, they will face off against Portland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bison surely won't give up without a fight.
