Volleyball Game Preview: Harrison Blue Tide vs. West Caldwell Tech Eagles

The Harrison Blue Tide will face off against the West Caldwell Tech Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Harrison comes in on nine and West Caldwell Tech on five.

Harrison is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Weehawken.

Harrison never let Weehawken on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23.

Brayan Andrade was the offensive standout of the contest as he had nine digs and two assists.

West Caldwell Tech had won nine straight home games and John Jimenez did his part to make it ten on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against Jefferson Township by a score of 2-0 with plenty of help from Jimenez, who had 12 digs and six assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times he's played.

While West Caldwell Tech won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23.

West Caldwell Tech's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Harrison, their win bumped their record up to 28-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Harrison has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5 aces per game. However, it's not like West Caldwell Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
