Softball Game Preview: Galax Maroon Tide vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

Galax is 2-8 against Grayson County since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Maroon Tide are taking a road trip to square off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Galax has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Galax came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to Giles. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Maroon Tide couldn't push the score so high this time.

Galax saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylin Barnes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. Maddson Bobbitt was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Grayson County waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They skirted past the Eagles 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Eagles since April 29, 2022.

Galax's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Grayson County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5.
