San Ysidro has gone a perfect 5-0 against Mar Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Mariners. San Ysidro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 35.8 points per game this season.

San Ysidro is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bonita Vista just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 28-14 to the Barons. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Barons are ranked 11th).

The losing side was boosted by Vida Sanchez, who threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 79.4% of her passes.

San Ysidro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rhiane Fadriquela and Mia Maldonado.

Meanwhile, Mar Vista fell victim to Southwest SD and their airtight defense on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Raiders. The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 13-5. As for Mar Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Everything came up roses for San Ysidro against Mar Vista when the teams last played last Thursday, as the team secured a 60-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
