Basketball Recap: Northwood Chargers vs. Jordan-Matthews Jets

The Northwood Chargers can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jordan-Matthews 66-37 at home. The victory was nothing new for Northwood as they're now sitting on three straight.

Northwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drake Powell out in front who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Leighton, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Jordan-Matthews lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zaeon Auguste, who scored eight points along with two steals. Brennen Oldham was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Northwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Jordan-Matthews, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Northwood will head out on the road to take on the Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bartlett Yancey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Chargers are ranked 57th). As for Jordan-Matthews, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. North Moore is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
