Volleyball Recap: Swain County Takes a Loss

Swain County and Hayesville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Swain County had to settle for second. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroon Devils in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost four in a row.

Kinsley Hyatt paced Swain County's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hyatt got some help from Ryan Ellis and her 29 assists. Hyatt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Swain County's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Hayesville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Swain County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hayesville, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Cherokee on the 23rd.
