Football Game Preview: Shoemaker Wolves vs. Bryan Vikings

The Shoemaker Wolves will face off against the Bryan Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Shoemaker's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Shoemaker's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Killeen 49-0. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Kangaroos: they've now won seven in a row.

Shoemaker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamal Polite Jr, who picked up 165 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Brown Jr, who gained 113 total yards and two touchdowns.

Shoemaker didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as James Evans, Aramiz Calumpang, and Da'Mariyon Dye'Allen picked up one apiece. With that strong performance, Evans is now averaging an impressive 5.1 total tackles per game. Karson Tutwiler was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Bryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against Harker Heights, falling 62-7. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Shoemaker's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Shoemaker strolled past Bryan in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 35-21. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
