Football Game Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Comfort Bobcats/Deer

Blanco has gone 8-2 against Comfort recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Bobcats/Deer at 7:00 p.m. Blanco has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 121 points over their last three matchups.

Blanco proved they can win big back in October (they won by 46) and last Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 victory over Lexington.

Blanco got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brodrick Siwecki out in front who rushed for 242 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Siwecki showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Kuebel, who rushed for 152 yards and one score while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Blanco was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 440 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in 18 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Another reason for the win was Blanco's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Kaden Elrod and Hunter Rodriguez, who racked up four sacks between them. Elrod has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Comfort's offense. They took a blow against Lexington on Friday, falling 54-0. The Bobcats/Deer haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Blanco's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Comfort, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Blanco against Comfort in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 41-7 win. In that contest, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 34-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
