Baseball Game Preview: Episcopal School of Jacksonville Eagles vs. Menendez Falcons

Episcopal School of Jacksonville has gone a perfect 4-0 against Menendez recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Episcopal School of Jacksonville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th. Everything went their way against Nease as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Jude McDonald looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Episcopal School of Jacksonville got a massive performance out of William Beard, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave Beard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Ottesen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Menendez suffered their biggest loss since March 17th on Wednesday. They lost 12-2 to Stanton. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Menendez saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JR Norton, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Lucas Drake, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Menendez, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Everything went Episcopal School of Jacksonville's way against Menendez in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Episcopal School of Jacksonville made off with an 8-1 win.
