Basketball Game Preview: St. John Fighting Herald vs. Grand Valley Mustangs

St. John hasn't had much luck against Grand Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the St. John Fighting Herald will head out on the road to face off against the Grand Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. St. John knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Grand Valley likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, St. John came up short against Harding and fell 72-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Fighting Herald still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Grand Valley was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Windham 55-21. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

St. John now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Grand Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

St. John was dealt a bruising 63-28 loss at the hands of Grand Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can St. John avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
