Football Game Preview: Rogers Pirates vs. East Valley Red Devils + Official Tickets

The Rogers Pirates will challenge the East Valley Red Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rogers' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so East Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Rogers took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Deer Park by a score of 14-7.

Everett Long was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 105 yards and one TD. Those 105 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Rogers' run defense was locked in: Deer Park could only muster two yards per carry. The Pirates' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.9.

Meanwhile, East Valley put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Ellensburg on the board, marking the Red Devils' second-straight 61-0 shutout. The Red Devils pushed the score to 54-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had no chance of recovering from.

Rogers better keep an eye on Jaxon Berg. He was instrumental in East Valley's win, throwing for 324 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Stevens, who picked up 132 receiving yards and three scores.

East Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Garen Chapman and Joshua Walruff. Chapman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

East Valley's record is now 9-0. As for Rogers, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
