Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors vs. Dorchester Academy Raiders
The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Dorchester Academy. Andrew Jackson Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dorchester Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Brown, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden McClung, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Andrew Jackson Academy now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Dorchester Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Andrew Jackson Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cathedral Academy at 7:10 p.m. Cathedral Academy is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Dorchester Academy, they will challenge Calhoun Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
