Softball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers vs. Parkview Baptist Eagles

St. Joseph's Academy extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 2-10. They fell 5-1 to the Parkview Baptist Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 last Saturday.

As for Parkview Baptist, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Parkview Baptist's part, Jalayah Slaughter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Slaughter was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Hammonds was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Addie Young also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, St. Joseph's Academy is taking a road trip to take on Central Private at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Parkview Baptist, they will host Port Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
