Basketball Recap: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Bear Grass Charter Bears
The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 60-18 loss at the hands of Bear Grass Charter. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cape Hatteras in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Cape Hatteras still got an impressive performance from Griffin Couch, who scored nine points along with two blocks. That was a full 50% of Cape Hatteras' points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Cape Hatteras has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Bear Grass Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.
