            Volleyball Recap: Lathrop Spartans vs. Johansen Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Lathrop came tearing into  Friday's  game with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Johansen Vikings as they made off with  a  3-0 victory. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.
 The  3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lathrop was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-12,  25-13.
Lathrop's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Elias Medel, who  had five  digs and four  aces. Another player making a difference was  Mario Luna, who  had 26  assists.

 Medel wasn't the only good server: Lathrop  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 17  aces. That's the most  aces they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Lathrop pushed their record up to 14-5 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. As for Johansen,  they are  on  a  20-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
 Lathrop wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  2-0  win against St. Mary's on the 29th. As for Johansen, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Central Valley  at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
