Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission South Comes Up Short

Shawnee Mission South lost against St. James Academy back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Raiders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

St. James Academy found their leader in sophomore Ellen Dorsey, who had 24 assists and three digs. Dorsey is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Shawnee Mission South's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-2. As for St. James Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.

Looking ahead, Shawnee Mission South will take on Olathe Northwest at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. James Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Shawnee Mission Northwest on the 4th.
