After a string of five wins, Pecos's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Santa Rosa Lions by a score of 75-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (70), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Pecos' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-9. As for Santa Rosa, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Pecos will face off against Clayton at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pecos has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Santa Rosa, they will be playing at home against Estancia at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Santa Rosa's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Estancia has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
