The Mingo Central Miners will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Roane County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Two weeks ago, Mingo Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Point Pleasant, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory.

Dylan Vance was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Vance was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.

Mingo Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Alex Muncy and his two sacks.

Meanwhile, Roane County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Braxton County, posting a 54-7 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Roane County, who have now won six matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Roane County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Greathouse out in front who threw for 104 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Hunt, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Mingo Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-1. As for Roane County, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 7-0.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Mingo Central commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Roane County struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
