Softball Game Preview: Oakcrest Chargers vs. Seton Conquistadors

Oakcrest hasn't had much luck against Seton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chargers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Conquistadors at 4:00 p.m. Oakcrest will be strutting in after a victory while Seton will be coming in after a defeat.

Oakcrest took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wolves 7-5.

Meanwhile, Seton was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Fairfax HomeSchool, falling 23-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Conquistadors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Seton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Chau, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Chau is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Seton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oakcrest, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Oakcrest might still be hurting after the 15-4 defeat they got from Seton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
