Basketball Recap: Morgan Sebes Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Nickerson

There's no place like home for Macksville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 49-38 victory over the Nickerson Panthers on Saturday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Macksville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Sebes, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Sebes a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Daniela Reyes, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

The win snapped Macksville's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record. As for Nickerson, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Macksville has already played their next match (against Cunningham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Nickerson Panthers face off against the Haven Wildcats on Tuesday. Haven's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Nickerson's offense will have their work cut out for them.
