League recap: Proffitt throws longest pass in league this season for Hebron

5A Region I District 5 recap October 22, 2013

Fans got a thrill when Carson Proffitt and Jamal Adams connected against Ryan. The connection went for 76 yards, the longest such play in 5A Region I District 5 this season.

Flower Mound moved up to 393 from 424 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Jaguars climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Coppell 45-3.

Hebron's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Proffitt threw for 176 and 3 touchdowns and Adams had 127 yards receiving. On the ground Treyvon Hughes chipped in 157 yards. Travis Stone helped Hebron's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 41 yards.

He went 7-11 with 0 interceptions.

Proffitt put up the best numbers through the air as the Hawks beat the Raiders. Proffitt's favorite target this week was Adams, who caught 3 passes for 127 yards.

Hebron's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Proffitt has thrown for 787 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Adams has 12 catches for 341 yards.

Two stand out recruits will be in the spotlight when the Cowboys and Marcus meet this week. Coppell features high profile defensive lineman Solomon Thomas while the Marauders has Kaden Smith, a sought after sophomore.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ryan takes on Lewisville. Joey Florence's team is in first place, while the Farmers are in fourth place.

Flower Mound lost to Joe Mcbride's team 45-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
