Northwest Guilford came out on top against Southwest Guilford on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Cowboys. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Northwest Guilford's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Southwest Guilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Northwest Guilford has already played their next game, a 9-2 loss against Northern Guilford on the 2nd. As for Southwest Guilford, they will challenge West Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Cowboys' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
