Volleyball Recap: Lone Peak Falls Short Against Ranked Corner Canyon

Lone Peak faced Corner Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Knights fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 3-2. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Lone Peak actually scored more points across those five sets (109-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 13-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Lone Peak's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Luhanna Panta, who had 20 digs and four aces, and Nevaeh Tien, who had five digs and three aces. Tien is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season.

Lone Peak's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for Corner Canyon, their record is now 11-3.

Lone Peak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Foothill on the 19th. As for Corner Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Ironwood Ridge on the 19th.
