Chapel Hill extends home losing streak to eight

The Chapel Hill Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Landmark Christian. Chapel Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Landmark Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Chapel Hill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Za?khiyah Thompson, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Teleah Dunbar, who scored six points.

Even though they lost, Chapel Hill were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Chapel Hill's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Landmark Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Chapel Hill will take on Coretta Scott King YWLA in a holiday battle at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Coretta Scott King YWLA is ranked 405th, while Chapel Hill is ranked 393rd). Landmark Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Galloway at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
