Baseball Recap: Cary-Grove Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Cary-Grove got themselves on the board against Huntley on Wednesday, but Huntley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Red Raiders. Considering the Trojans have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Charlie Taczy, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Huntley off the board. Taczy has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brock Iverson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ricky Barnes, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Cary-Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cary-Grove's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Huntley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
