Baseball Recap: Greenwood Comes Up Short

Greenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Laurens Raiders. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Greenwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen Still, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Laurens, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood will square off against T.L. Hanna at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. T.L. Hanna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Laurens, they will challenge Westside at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Westside's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Laurens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
