South Shore league recap: 5/7/12

The league's top two teams in the standings locked horns this week, as East Bridgewater took home a 10-8 victory over Cohasset on May 3, 2012. East Bridgewater sits in first place in South Shore at 7-1 (8-2 overall).

This could be a critical week for the Vikings, which hold a 1.50-game lead over Cohasset for the league's top spot in the standings.

The Skippers's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 21 hits and seven walks, both of which led the league. On the season, Cohasset has allowed just 52 hits, while striking out 100 batters. Jamie Faber leads Cohasset with 59 strikeouts in 34 innings.

East Bridgewater stole 13 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 35 steals on the year. Given the green light by manager Pat Cronin, Tim O'brien has racked up nine steals on his own this season for the Vikings.
