Baseball Recap: Marquette Catholic Takes a Loss

Marquette Catholic blew Metro-East Lutheran out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Metro-East Lutheran got their revenge. The Explorers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Explorers have suffered against the Knights since May 8, 2019.

Marquette Catholic saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Toby Eberlin, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Marquette Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Metro-East Lutheran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

While Marquette Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
