Basketball Recap: Lapoynor Makes It Four in a Row at Home

LaPoynor had won three straight home games and Cort Reid did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The LaPoynor Flyers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Alba-Golden Panthers 86-58 thanks in part to Reid, who went 11-for-21 to rack up 33 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of LaPoynor's points.

Zade Howard was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 14 points and five assists. What's more, he also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024.

LaPoynor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points over those games. As for Alba-Golden, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.

LaPoynor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-67 defeat against Grapeland on the 18th. As for Alba-Golden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-51 loss against Normangee on the 18th.
