Baseball Recap: Somerset Tech Takes a Loss

Newark Tech hit Somerset Tech with a five-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars lost 10-1 to the Terries. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Somerset Tech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Russomanno, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Lucas Karabinos also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Somerset Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Newark Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Somerset Tech has already played their next matchup, an 8-6 loss against Dunellen on the 2nd. As for Newark Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Kearny on the 2nd.
