Basketball Game Preview: STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans vs. Sheridan Rams

The STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans will take on the Sheridan Rams in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. STEM School Highlands Ranch will be strutting in after a victory while Sheridan will be coming in after a loss.

STEM School Highlands Ranch is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 49-36 win over KIPP Denver Collegiate on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

STEM School Highlands Ranch can attribute much of their success to Avi Thakkar, who posted 15 points and five steals, and Matt Moore, who earned 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. Braden Calme was another key player, putting up two points and seven rebounds.

STEM School Highlands Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Sheridan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against DSST: College View, falling 80-54.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
