Volleyball Game Preview: Hiawatha Red Hawks vs. Royal Valley Panthers

The Hiawatha Red Hawks will face off against the Royal Valley Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hiawatha is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rossville just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs.

While Hiawatha ultimately came up short, they really made Rossville work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 26-24.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Royal Valley and Perry-Lecompton meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kaws.

While Royal Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14.

Royal Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-15-1. As for Hiawatha, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-19.
