Softball Recap: Mercer Island Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Mercer Island Islanders came up short against the Lindbergh Eagles and fell 8-3. The Islanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mercer Island got a good showing from Sienna Klopp, who struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave Klopp a new career-low in earned runs.

Mercer Island now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lindbergh, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercer Island will challenge Vashon Island at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lindbergh, they will face off against Tyee at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
