Basketball Game Preview: Spartanburg Vikings vs. Clover Blue Eagles

The Spartanburg Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Clover Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Spartanburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Clover likes a good challenge.

Spartanburg is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since January 17th on Thursday. They blew past Eastside 66-46.

Meanwhile, Clover strolled past Catawba Ridge with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 61-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Eagles.

Clover's win came from a few key players Spartanburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Parks, who went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was J'Shon Watson, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 14 points and five assists.

Spartanburg's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Clover, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Spartanburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Clover in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, sneaking past 55-52. Will Spartanburg repeat their success, or does Clover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
