Basketball Game Preview: Windsor Academy Knights vs. Piedmont Academy Cougars

The Windsor Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Piedmont Academy Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Windsor Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Flint River Academy 72-31. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 72-58 fall against Stratford Academy. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while the Eagles are ranked 191st).

Windsor Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Piedmont Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.

Windsor Academy came up short against Piedmont Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 66-60. Can Windsor Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
