Arcadia had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.6 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Plain Dealing Lions 58-29. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Lions are ranked 183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arcadia is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.6 points per game. As for Plain Dealing, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia will venture away from home to square off against Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Haughton's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Plain Dealing, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Plain Dealing Lions challenge the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
