Softball Game Preview: Northridge Knights vs. Box Elder Bees

Northridge is 0-8 against Box Elder since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will host the Bees at 3:30 p.m. Northridge has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northridge lost 17-1 to West Field on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Box Elder put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Viewmont a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Bees have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lucy Braegger tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kennadie Blackmer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kailee Hall, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Box Elder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Viewmont only posted an OBP of .125.

Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Box Elder, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.

Northridge suffered a grim 22-2 defeat to Box Elder in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
