Malone hadn't done well against Marianna recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers walked away with a 75-65 win over the Bulldogs. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Malone got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamir Smith out in front who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Jamerious Sims, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Malone was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marianna only racked up three.

Despite the loss, Marianna still got an impressive performance from Mason Mobley, who went 17-for-30 to rack up 45 points. The contest was Mobley's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. Ja'Ques Spears also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Malone and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Marianna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Malone wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-34 loss against Graceville on the 9th. As for Marianna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-48 defeat against Bay on the 8th.
