Basketball Game Preview: Spirit Lake Indians vs. Unity Christian Knights

The Spirit Lake Indians will square off against the Unity Christian Knights on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Spirit Lake against Sheldon as the team secured a 57-19 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Unity Christian beat Okoboji 51-42 on Saturday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Pioneers are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spirit Lake's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.8 points. As for Unity Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.

Spirit Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Unity Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with an 84-79 victory. Will Spirit Lake repeat their success, or does Unity Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
