Baseball Recap: Corcoran Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Corcoran came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Strathmore Spartans get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cortez Portillo was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brennan Botill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Corcoran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strathmore only posted an OBP of .316.

Corcoran's record is now 15-4. As for Strathmore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12-1 record this season.

Corcoran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Woodlake on the 24th. As for Strathmore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-4 victory against Granite Hills on the 24th.
