Basketball Recap: Brandon Solomon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Word of God Christian Academy over Winston Salem Christian

Word of God Christian Academy lost against Winston Salem Christian back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams fell 59-52 to the Winston Salem Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Holy Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Lions are ranked 80th).

Several Holy Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Solomon, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Zach Cullen was another key player, going 8-for-11 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Word of God Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. As for Winston Salem Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Word of God Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winston Salem Christian has already played their next game (against Oak Hill Academy Red), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
