Basketball Recap: Westfield Falls Despite Big Games from Samantha Price and Audra Parker

Westfield and Hamilton Southeastern squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Westfield had to settle for second. They fell 46-38 to the Hamilton Southeastern Royals. The Shamrocks haven't had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Westfield's loss came despite strong showings from Audra Parker and Samantha Price. Parker posted 12 points, while Price had eight points and six rebounds. Parker continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Maya Makalusky continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hamilton Southeastern, going 10 of 20 to rack up 25 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Makalusky has scored at least a third of Hamilton Southeastern's points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Holman, who scored eight points and five rebounds.

Westfield's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Hamilton Southeastern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

As of now, neither Westfield nor Hamilton Southeastern have any future games scheduled.
