Soccer Game Preview: Cane Ridge vs. Overton

The Cane Ridge Ravens are taking a road trip to take on the Overton Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Overton better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Cane Ridge's game on Wednesday is any indication, that's when Cane Ridge really gets things going. Everything went the Ravens' way against McGavock as they made off with a 9-2 win. That looming 9-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cane Ridge yet this season.

Meanwhile, Overton hasn't lost a match since March 17th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They skirted past Hunters Lane 4-3. Four seems to be a good number for Overton as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

They hit Hunters Lane with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Franciso Loh (2), Inmer Lopez Turcios, and Kevin Santos.

Cane Ridge pushed their record up to 5-6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matchups. As for Overton, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-2.

Cane Ridge beat Overton 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
